Monica Barnes
Originally from Scotland, Monica Barnes is the Clinical Director and founder of Menopause and Wellness. Since qualifying as a nurse in 1996, she has held senior nursing leadership roles across the UK, Saudi Arabia and New Zealand, including Charge Nurse, Senior Charge Nurse, Head Nurse and Professional Lead positions.
Monica founded Menopause and Wellness following her own challenging experience with menopause and the difficulties she faced in having her symptoms recognised and accessing timely, appropriate care. This experience led her to explore menopause care both personally and professionally, undertaking specialist training to better understand menopause and the treatment options available. Her journey also highlighted the need for greater knowledge and understanding around menopause care, inspiring her to create a service focused on supporting women through this stage of life.
